Thinking back thru my career, I’ve known a few office hoarders.
I’ve kept my secret well hidden until now, so at the time, I really blocked out hoarding activities. I knew in my own life, I didn’t want to be a hoarder (though when I left home I didn’t know the term “hoarder”). When I saw this article a light bulb of sorts went on for me. Those people were
One woman’s desk was filled with books and papers, and now that I think of it, the files she sent me upon her departure from the company, were hoarded also. Lots and lots of useless information saved in file after file.
Another woman left food all over her desk along with printed papers. I think her desk area actually smelled.
They were just “messy”. A lot of us around the office can be messy at times. The difference is that it will only take us 5 minutes to clean, not 5 days and a moving van.
