Someone has to be guilty, right?
The hoarder didn’t make the mess. The kids are the ones that won’t pick up their stuff, or the spouse of the hoarder is probably the one doing it.
In my case, the hoarder is my mother and she wasn’t responsible. And to this day isn’t. Maybe someone broke into the house to create the craptastic mess piled up around every corner?? That’s probably it.
- – In her mind that is – -
In March, I went to visit my mother for probably the last time. One of the first things she said to me from her hospital bed (set up in her living room) was, sorry for the mess, the grandkids were here and they left their mess all over.
Yeeaahhh… right.
The grand-kids left your sh*t laying all over the place. Food, medicine, rags, boxes, drink containers, etc…
The hoarder can’t be responsible. Ever.
I get angry when I watch shows where people coddle the hoarder. I usually don’t watch them. I grew up living that kind of life, why would I want to subject myself to it all over again?
I have been watching it a bit lately. I’ve made it to my second week. Then I watched another show (America’s messiest house or something similar to that)
It was disappointing.
Why can’t the person that creates the mess be held responsible? I cheer when I actually see someone with a degree look at the hoarder and tell him THEY are the ones responsible for the mess.
Make them own up to it! Do NOT let them blame it on the children.
My mother, she blames her grandkids now. When I was younger, she blamed my brother, my sister, and I.
